It’s Spring and I’m Branching Out

A short one on somewhat technical bits and pieces. I’ve been using the 50mm f1.4 SSC for a while now and I’ve written about it before here, I finally branched out and hunted down a new-used 35mm f2 SSC for the AE-1.

I swapped lens’ halfway through a film. Above is 50mm, below 35mm. I’m not chasing the distortion of a fish-eye, but the 35mm has a slightly wider angle than the 50mm for landscapes or indoor scenes where a 50mm sometimes backs you into a corner.

Although at f2 the 35mm is not as fast as the 50mm, given the shorter focal length I can slow it further without risking a dose of camera shake.
